Did you have to trick the date because of the 24hr restriction on checking AT&T for updates? I didn't have to change the date and my phone is downloading the update also.

Yes, if you checked for it in the last 24 hours, you have to wait- or change your date forward to start the download.

No time trick needed.. I did AT&T software update, it said I couldn't check for 18 hours, and then a minute later I got a popup that said Update Downloading. Go figure.

For the ones who are having problems updating through the AT&T Software Update, you can do a manual update, install on a computer and then run it to update your phone.
