Stock Sprint, no problems here. I can't tell for the WIFI since I'm only on my phone for 2-10 minute increments. My batter life is out of this world now, I usually am unplugged since 7AM, and by the time I get home I used to be at 30%, now I'm pushing 40 and today 50%. I did do a factory reset, only way to work out the bugs honestly.

Well I still didn't get my update notice, maybe need to wait for few more time.

Here is a response I posted in another thread with similar concerns...

Pretty much all carriers (and OEMs for that matter) will provide OTAs without a required data wipe (a.k.a. factory reset) because it's much easier on the user AND the carrier if they don't have to worry about instructing everyone how to backup their data first. In their mind, from a customer support perspective, it's easier to suggest doing a factory reset after the fact if a user comes to them with post-update issues, than to simply require it across the board and face the wrath of customers who are upset that their data was wiped.

The problem is that, of course, after almost major update to any Android phone, there are a ton of threads posted from users stating that "This update sucks! it ruined my battery life and my phone crashes all the time!!!"...but the reality is that 99 times out of 100, the update itself is fine, it's just that because there wasn't a factory reset done, it was technically installed improperly. Now, many people may install with no factory reset and have no problems at all, but the fact remains that when doing a major update there is a lot of data that gets carried over to the new version, and there are a lot of opportunities for incompatibility or corruption of that data. Without a factory reset, it is simply impossible to determine the cause of any "bugs" that may appear, as they may be tied to either the update itself of the existing data and settings carried over from the previous version. There are times when I think carriers and OEMs should force factory resets when updating the OS, but as I stated above, I understand why they don't.

Having said all of that, I think that we educated users (those of us to take the time to read Android Central and participate in the forums), should be prepared to install an update properly*. A lot of Google's stuff is already backed up to the cloud, and there are quite a few apps out there that can facilitate backing up pretty much everything else, including SMS messages and things like that. If you use a custom launcher, like Nova, it's even quite easy to backup and restore your home screen configuration...though I understand why many prefer to stick with the stock launcher instead. When a new update is available, especially a MAJOR update that involves a new Android version, my recommendation would be to backup everything that you can, install the update, then immediately do a factory reset and run though the setup wizard again and restore data as needed. If you choose not to do that, it's your prerogative, but you should at least understand that before you can complain about any bugs your phone may experience, that a factory reset should be completed first. Just realizing this can take a lot of the worry and frustration out of the updating process, IMO. Just my 2?

*I use the term "properly" as a subjective term that reflects my opinion...yours may vary.

When will be update in Britain?

I'm wondering that too.....I'm a little worried about installing this update after reading this thread, is this a Major update? With iPhone i would just install OTA and that was it done.

To add on the post I made earlier on this thread (which goes back to this post), issues with updates is NOT something that is unique to Android. Many users face very similar problems when updating to iOS as well.

Chances are that you can probably "just install OTA and that is it done" with your Android phone as well...and most folks will probably not have any problems doing that. The fact still remains however, that there is always a chance that you'll have to do a factory reset (or, as iOS users call it, a "restore") due to issues with the process. Just a quick glance over on the iOS 7 subforum at iMore shows that plenty of folks are having similar issues with iOS 7.

Always be aware that the minority that experience problems will always be a lot more vocal on forums such as this than the majority of folks that don't have any problems.

Yes I think we can just wait till they fix the 4.3 bugs or wait till kitkat......

I noticed today while at work that my phone isn't staying completely connected to the wifi. It wasn't like this yesterday, so I'm wondering if this is a 4.3 issue on my phone. I guess I should do a factory reset, but I don't want to lose all my contacts and messages. Any suggestions on how to save those things? I really am a newbie about this stuff still :(

I'm running a stock Sprint 4.3, and it's terrible, WiFi cuts in and out a couple times a minute, battery life is considerably worse, contact pictures decide they want to exist whenever they feel like it, I'm considering doing a reset.

Just gotta say...updated OTA the 1st day with At&t and everything is better as a result. Battery lasts longer and charges faster...general UI navigation is smoother...and it could be placebo, but I think it makes breakfast taste better too.

I just got the one on wednesday, and updated to 4.3 (at&t) on the same day. so take this coming from an android noob. I can't see any issues with 4.3 at all. my wifi stays connected, battery life is great.

To all of you who are concerned about doing factory resets, while I haven't done one on the One, my past experiences have shown me that what you will loose is game progress, auto sign-ins, but not much more. You'll have to sign in to all of your wifi networks again, set up your email apps, and start over on any game that is not backed up on a server. You do not loose pictures, I say this and 20 people will respond that they have lost pictures, but if they are saved on your SD, or in the case of the Rezound and I'm assuming the One on the partitioned portion of your memory set aside as internal SD, you shouldn't loose anything you've taken with your phone. All that being said here are a couple of apps and things to consider:

If you exclusively use Google Play and Amazon App Store for apps, nothing from the web or other source your apps are already backed up through your log-in for those two places. There really is no need to back up apps anymore.

If you use apps from other sources then GP or AAS you can use apps like MyBackUp Pro or Astro File Manager. MBUP is a paid app but you can get the free version that has all of the features for a 7 or 30 day trial. I can't remember which exactly, but it's more than enough time to do a factory reset and restore. Astro is free, and both will allow you to back up to the web so you know your data is out of harms way. Both allow you to back up text, MMS, docs, and photos/vids/audio.

If you sync your contacts with Google those will automatically be restored when you setup the phone after a FR, but if not either of the two apps I mentioned will also back them up.

If you sync your calendar with Google the same applies as with the contacts, and again the two apps that I mentioned will back them up as well.

My personal experience:
I bought MBUP and it worked well, I've never lost anything using it, but the UI on gingerbread was not as fluid as I felt it could have been. That was a long time and probably several updates ago. Astro is my new favorite, just because it also allow you to look through your files on the phone and lets you search by file type. It's a handy tool even if you don't need the backup. I keep petitioning MailDroid to save your log-in information as a cloud option because it never fails that I forget at least one of my log ins. Personal wish list. Hope this helps.

You will lose everything if you don't back it up. Just back it up with Google and HTC Sync. I'm not sure about the messages but you could take screen shots of them and they will be backed up by HTC Sync. I did a reset on my One after the update, just to get rid of the old crap they add to the phone. Also no WiFi issues and my battery life is great! Haven't done much this morning but I've only lost 1% since 7am.

FYI: I did a reset, but did not help. I'm having the same issues you have.

So I THINK the at&t network update is the best with no issues but I'm in uk we don't have that network........
