4.4.2 OTA

The ping pong ball pop/thwack sound when touching the screen is louder. That's all I've noticed. Haven't taken a photo but those who have say shutter and focus are better and faster, and the speaker is louder. :)

Edit: Oops, my bad, not a Nexus 5 thread. Sorry.

Nah I haven't noticed anything in the past few days with typical usage. But everything's been running smoothly and I haven't had any issues.

Never got 4.4.2.. I have 4.4 right now.

i sideloaded the ota update yesterday.
So far i noticed no big changes. Phone is running smooth and fast as usual.
I have not yet tested the camera.

Did anyone who converted their Sense version to GPE via RUU method receive the 4.2.2 OTA update? I tried manual update from Settings a couple of times but it goes through real fast and say "your system is up to date". I am still at 4.4 and wondering if I will ever get updates OTA.

Thanks for the link but no rush. I want to make sure OTA is working after the conversion. This is the only way to test it as far as I know.

I have to admit i did the same thing after converting the phone and waited for my first OTA update.
But this time i wanted to be up to date faster.

One more question conversion related. After conversion, I have noticed my battery life is significantly shorter. Have you experienced it? It is really bad. Before, I was charging my phone every 1.5 days. Now, it goes down to 10% within 15 hours and I am not even using it heavily. Any ideas what may be causing it? I have already done few battery saving things such as location service off, google account not syncing everything, NSF off etc but no relief. One thing concerns me is two instances of Google Play Service running non stop. Is that normal?

I've noticed the same thing too with my battery, I'm sure you're not alone. I low key miss having the power saver option, it was a really nice feature.

I am not a real heavy user but one charge last me for 2.5 days. Now with 4.4.2 it seems to be even better.
But i am one of those switching GPS/Wlan/bluehooth off if i don't need it.
So i am really happy with the battery life.

Just got mine

I did the exact same thing. Converted my phone three weeks ago and I just wanted to make sure I would get my OTA. Just came today and everything seems to be working fine.

Quick question - those of you who have converted to a GPE, when you do the easter egg trick by clicking on the 4.4 several times, I don't get the "K" I have seen in videos. I get a dark screen and if i long press that, I get the kit kat logo with android in it and I get the tiles, but not the initial "K"

No big deal at all, I just wonder if this is a byproduct of me converting.

Love the converted GPE btw. This has sealed it for me, I am getting just Nexus or GPE devices from now on

I just read on a different forum that in location services, if you select the "device Only" setting it fixes the battery drain issue. First two choices are the culprits. I will try it now and see throughout the day if it changes things.

Location service was not the fix. I figured out the problem. After the 4.4.2 update I decided to use ART. Right after that I started having battery issues. I revert it back to Dalvic but it did not fix the issue until I Factory re setted the phone. So, it seems ART messes up something that can not be fixed unless A. you change the setting back to Dalvic and B. Reset the phone. My battery life is back to normal now. I hope this helps others.

HTC One GPE freezing after upgrade to 4.4.2. It only lasts a few minutes working. After that, no matter which app is in use it just stops responding and I need to force a reboot. The phone is almost unusable after this update.

The giant "K" easter egg thing is not showing on mine either, I just get the same dark screen. I wonder what causes this though. Is there a fix?
