Alltel is Verizon. You will have the same "service" with them. Verizon is the mothership in that relationship. They share the same towers etc etc etc. Have you tried using one of the hybrid prls, or *228 your phone yet? 3G is 3G, if the tower you are connecting to doesn't have it you won't have it. A prl update should fix the priority list for you phone and give you 3G if it's available.
Just to make sure I'm clear, I am alltel, that isn't being purchased by verizon or At&t. Not sure if that has anything do to with this.
I have 3g(evdo rev a) signals for all my alltel gear. Thats two smartphones and two datacards. It's definitely available.
I've done the 228, even loaded a hybrid prl, none of that worked. I'll periodically see my phone switch to 3g, but it will be short lived, and as soon as that 3g notices me looking, it switches to 1x lol.
Talking with tech support, we went through battery pull, 228'ing, system reset and reactivating the phone. One rep even had me change the Home SID from 299, to 30508, which didn't help either. I'm at a loss here.
No no, we aren't being bought by Verizon here. Verizon and Alltel were the only two providers to my area, so it would have been a monopoly.
Ah ok, well may I suggest swapping to Verizon lol. Just kidding, if you have tried the hybrid prl, resetting, swapping SIDs etc. the only other thing I could think of is a hardware issue. I know my phone if it sleeps for awhile turns off the 3G until I use it again. Maybe it's that? Does it go back to 3G if you open the browser etc. or it's totally off? I mean obviously it's getting some type of 3G signal in that area or it wouldn't be flip flopping. Of course it could still be faulty hardware. How does it do in other areas of town does it have 3G there?
No wonder Verizon doesn't promote the Incredible anymore. HTC's got serious manufacturing issues! I'm on my 3rd phone. 4th phone, and I would have gone back to Motorola. It's like the Incredible is proving Einsteins definition of insanity, "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." It's all very strange since the Nexus 1, being nearly the same phone, hasn't had nearly as many problems.
When the phone is manufactured properly, it completely rocks...but I've never had to deal with so many defective phones. Maybe other people are used to it, but it should NOT be the norm to have to return the same model of phone multiple times.
eh, my luck this year.....had 6 berries last year, but 4 came from the factory with stuff like no lighted keyboards, etc.
Gave me lots of practice putting on invisible shields.
Maybe other people are used to it, but it should NOT be the norm to have to return the same model of phone multiple times.
Yo Tony, they are not dishwasher safe. Just saying.
I think demand was beyond what they thought and samsung? dropped the ball with screen manufacturing.....
Did they ever promote it? LOL
