4g and Wifi at the same time?

I was thinking about getting one of those Seagate go flex satellite drives that connects to your device via wifi and allows you stream files. If I have my phone connected to the drive via wifi can I still use the 3g or 4g connection of my phone to access the internet? I have a Droid x now and am planning on getting a Rezound in the near future. Thanks!

Nope - it's one or the other. If you are connected to Wi-fi then your data and email will come over the Wi-fi link not your cellular data link.
