I usually don't like to leave my 4G data on. Is there an app that can turn on the 4G whenever I open Chrome, or an app that requires internet?

If you would like to have it automated, install MacroDroid.

Then choose one of two methods.

1. my preference: Have MD sense the screen status, when you unlock the screen (the trigger), then have the Action: be Turn Mobile Data ON.

2. alternate way: Have MD sense the app you want to use (browser, etc...) and then have it enable the DATA.

on both methods, my choice to is have MD sense the screen OFF (the trigger) and then have it turn OFF both WiFi and Data. This method will easily give you 2 or 3 days between charge cycles on your battery.

i'm 0n vacation and don't have access to my bookmarks, or i would provide you with the links to help you.

basically, in the free version, you can have 5 macros to see if you like MD.

click the + symbol
Select a trigger: Screen On/Off ( for example ) make it Unlocked
Select an Action: Mobile Data On/Off ( for example ) make it ON

click right arrow
click right arrow

Type a Name: Data ON (for example meaning screen is unlocked )

now it will go back to the menu, and you can list the macros you have written.

okay, let's make one turn it OFF.

Trigger: Screen OFF
Action: Mobile Data: OFF
-->
-->
name Screen OFF or call it DATA OFF

and that should get you going.

you will want the paid version in a hurry, guarantee you.

Macrodroid is the way to go. Really open up any phone.
