4G doesn't work after DI07 update??

I took my phone in to a Sprint Store on Saturday and after their service people were checking it out for almost an hour, they just said Sprint was aware of the problem, that it was a software issue, and an update would be coming in the next few weeks. Hopefully this is true, until then, I'll hold my breath.

I'm experiencing this "Unknown" status on my 4G toggle with DI18. If this is a software issue, doesn't seem right to be paying the $10 surcharge while this is unresolved.

Spent an hour on the phone with both Sprint and Samsung support. Tried updating the profile, PRL, soft resets, and finally a hard reset. Neither could resolve the "Unknown" 4G status. It would seem like more folks would be getting this issue if it was software related. Gonna try getting it exchanged at either Radio Shack or Sprint. Hoping to avoid refurb cycle hell.

That's scary that it is happening on phones with DI18 also.. I am hoping there was just a bad batch of phones. I believe my replacement phone has a different build date than my original phone, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that 4G never fails on this one.

Bri637, was your Sprint store a 3rd party store? Mine told me the exact same thing 2 weeks ago (it has now been a few weeks since then)...but I called Sprint Tech and went to a Kansas City store that was not a 3rd party outlet. Neither of them had ever heard of this issue. They replaced both our phones. I would get them to give you the title of the software "issue" or code or whatever it is and call Sprint or go to a large Sprint retail store and give them that info and have them check it out.

ie. We don't know what we are talking about and hopefully they release an update for it...

I went to an actual Sprint Store that had a repair center in it. This isn't the first time I've brought a phone in for repair and they haven't been able to fix it. All they did was write on the repair ticket about the software issue that would be addressed in a future update, nothing official looking. I was just going to give it a few weeks and if nothing has updated to fix it, then I'll just call Sprint.

Well be sure to update us on what the fix was. I'd only give them 2 weeks. Remember you are paying extra for the 4G.

bri637, definitely don't wait for a software fix. My Sprint repair center just ordered me a replacement phone, so this seems to be a faulty/defective hardware issue.

Yeah, I'm going to go to a different Sprint store/repair center. The one near my house hasn't been any help the last 2 times I've gone, but there's another one 20 minutes away.
