A heads up to anyone interested - 4G just showed up in the wild for the first time at the north end of Eugene, Oregon! Wah-hoo! Thanks Big Red (of course we'll have to see how long it lasts - whether they are just testing it or it's here to stay).

I've been using it when I travel - Phoenix, Portland, Frisco, etc. But now I'm getting it where I spend about half my time! The coast probably won't get it for awhile....

PS - It's fun to see the difference between 3G and 4G (and now I can put my unlimited data to work!)

Oregon, never heard of it, is that an undiscovered territory. <Totally J/K, BTW.....I do find that sorta surprising that they just flipped it on over there. That's a nicely populated area, at least it seemed to be back in the day. Saw some Dead shows in Eugene in '93. Then again every place looked well populated when deadheads rolled into town or maybe it was something else I ingested that had me seeing things a bit askewed. Anyhow, congrats, now go enjoy the data autobahn.

Yep, Orygun - just west of Nowhere... Ol' Jerry's gone but not forgotten and we stil have the Oregon Country Fair every year (most of the participants don't know he's dead... or can't remember).

When I bought the 'Zound, the VZ store said they were working their way down the I-5 corridor. Officially, 4G is only in Portland and surrounding areas (population wise, that's 75% of the population).

Going to enjoy it while it's working!

Had the same report in the Thunderbolt forums. :)

Congrats! It must be part of this deployment:
