4G LTE found in Kansas City!?

So.....

i got on VZW's website and put my address in and noticed i was right next to a 4g "extended coverage" area.

im at about 143 and black bob in Olathe.
so i drove to 151 and pflumm and turned on my 4g. right at 151 and pflumm my service went from 3G full bars to the 3G going away and it dropping to just 1 bar but said nothing and then back to full bars of 3G. it did this a few times. so it is like something is there, but wasn't good enough for it to kick on 4g, i guess...

anyoner else have any luck of pulling a 4G signa in a "extended coverage" zone?

ps. this "extended coverage" area on the map is new also... so there may be hope!!! :)

Yeah that's the ultimate question. The Map says 4G service around town but no information was announced for Kansas City getting 4G anytime soon. If you talk with Verizon reps they cannot explain it and you will get different answers from everyone you speak with. I have only seen 4G in 3 places in KC at this moment

1. Around the Airport
2. 435 and Nall - Near the corporate office in KC
3. Near the Stadium a couple of weeks ago during opening day for the Chiefs

I can say this that I noticed the signal for #2 has been extended as I was able to still get 4G on Metcalf between 103rd and 95th Street. I went up 95th Street and was getting consistent 4G service till I believe State Line road then it stopped.

the map has grown since last week. now if us bumpkins up north of the river could get a little LTE, that'd be real nice...

I was driving on Metcalf, northbound, and my Google Music streaming cut out on my phone. It would not get a 3G signal (my Droid Charge automatically selects 4G and locks on when available).

When I got to MicroCenter (around 95th and Metcalf) I noticed that my phone then kicked into 4G LTE and stayed connected. It wasn't the fastest 4G I've experienced, but it was certainly faster than Verizon's terrible 3G.

I travel a lot for business and so I've been able to enjoy LTE in a lot of different cities. I can't wait for it to get to Kansas City, you guys are going to love it. I was getting 18mbs down/5mbs up in San Antonio.

Starting to think something is happening in KC with 4g, yesterday at 30th and Vanbrant I lost data all together and when it came in it would jump straight into 4g and hold for 10 minutes and lost data connection again... also at 95th and Metcalf I have got 4g regularly..

When I called to complain about lost ot data the tech reported no outages but by the information I gave it sounds like what happens when they are doing tower upgrades...

Anything is possible.. I cant wait to have a reliable 4g connection..

Just got 34mb down on Verizon lte at the the Kansas Speedway. Must be close my signal is -59dBm

Looks like they turned it on a little bit early here in KC. Today's the first time to see it on my phone here at the house. 27.65 Mbps down and 3.87 Mbps up.

Wow! Sitting in downtown KCMO and I have 4G on November 9th! COOL! :D

IMAGE SAYS IT ALL :D

Any of you having a hard time since last Friday getting the 4G without it disconnecting your mobile connection all the time? I'm about to demand a Bionic.

I do not have this problem. 4G has been rock solid throughout the city for me since it switched on. I live in the Northland and work downtown. I don't have problems on my Thunderbolt with dropped signals. I even kept a signal down the elevator yesterday while I was on a call. :D It was amazing. Mobile connections have been perfectly fine. I'm sorry you've been having such bad luck. :(

Just did a hard reset because I wondered if it was an app I had or something that was causing it. Same issue, though.
