4G outage in DC area?

I haven't had 4G access for almost 24hrs. Not my ROM either, running BAMF Forever for a month now and all of a sudden I started only getting 3G service. I rebooted and everything, no luck. Even installed a diff ROM, same thing.

My bill was past due (just paid it today, I always forget) but would VZ just stop 4G on my phone like that? Figured they'd shut my phone down completely if anything.

Double check and make sure CDMA/LTE is check in mobile networks. Somehow my girls phone switched to CDMA only and she wasn't getting 4G. We are in the DMV as well.

I'm in the DC area (Alexandria) and 4G has been working fine for me, although I was on wifi most of yesterday evening.

I live outside of Baltimore and work near BWI airport, and regularly (at least a couple of times a week) see 3G rather than 4LTE. I think that there are frequent sporadic outages, or at least the TB loses the LTE signal. If I'm at work, where I don't use my Thunderbolt except as a cell phone, I'll switch to CDMA only.

I don't think that its a stretch of the imagination for an equipment failure or a power failure to knock out a local tower, so there are many reasons to loose the signal, especially with the weather-caused wide-spread power outages this area has experienced over the last several weeks (snow in October - are you serious!).

I really feel some of the battery issues are tied to the LTE radio searching for a signal that's not there. When its time to go home, I'll switch back to the LTE/CDMA choice.

I'm actually in MN (midwest), and came on here to make sure it wasn't just me. 1x since I woke up, turning it off and on puts it at 4g for about 30 seconds, then back to no or 1x signal...

I managed to at least get 3G back by enabling REV A and switching to CDMA mode...for what it's worth. Still seems to be intermittent, but at least I have some data back. Before doing this I had ZERO data.

Do I smell a mutiny on our part?....I say Verizon better be kissing our T-Butts after this.

I wonder if they are getting slammed with new customers?...LOLOL

As an administrator of a large network myself, I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt when stuff like this happens. It can't be easy to keep a network as large as theirs operating 24/7 with no disruptions.

Yeah, we depend on these things so much that a few hours feels like an eternity, but as long as they get the problem fixed in a timely manner, I'm willing to just let it go. It's not like any of the other wireless providers are immune from occasional disruptions in service...

(Don't get me wrong...I'm still freaking out right now).
