I had an epic 4G when it came out and maybe 3-4 months in, for no reason at all the 4G sysmbol would not appear/nor could u turn it on at all. Go to Sprint and they issue me a new phone. All is well, got the OTA 2.1 and had alittle problem at first, but worked it out and everything has been amazing....untill a few days ago. This time the 4G is there, but im not getting 4G speeds at all. My average speed using testmy.net and seedtest.com were about 900 kB/s. Now i get between 35 and 45 kB/s. So ive been instructed to go back again to my sprint store. Has anyone els had this problem? This is 2 phones now? I do turn 4G off and on alot because where i work i get no 4G service and it kills the battery. other than that the phone is in perfect shape. And up untill a few days ago was running fine. So it wasnt the update. I hate sprint, if the epic were on another carrier id be there in a heartbeat! Love the keyboard with the AMOLED screen. So, has anyone had problems like this?

Its Sprint/Clear. My speeds have kicked the bucket since DI18. Max I've gotten is 3 Mbps download (used to get over 7). My 3G speeds today were around 200kbps (WOOHOO, go Sprint!!)

Same problem here. over the entire weekend my 4g speeds dropped drastically . All the while showing a strong signal. Sometimes I would be suck loading a page. Called sprint and they reset the phone. Haven't downloaded anything yet but will be back with results soon.

My 4G stopped working similar to what yours did when you were given a new phone.

I would try to turn 4G on and it would say turning on but nothing ever happened, since I have gotten the new phone about a month ago I haven't had any issues.

My speeds never really dipped, they literally went from on the average 800kB/s to 34kB/s. And i rebooted the phone, i did everything. 4G says i have 3/2 bars but it is NOT working. So now i get another refurbished phone and hope it lasts another 3 months. My 3G is the same speed as my 4G. so my phone is not linking up with it correctly. Just tested while writing this: 18kB/s. My dads new 4G T-mobile galaxy s on HSPA+ gets about 800kB/s. Im really pissed.

My first 2 phones back at the end of August (mine and my wife's) did that back after about 2 weeks and we had to get both replaced. My wife still had to get a 2d replacement when we found that hers would not send/receive data, calls, nor text when she had a roaming signal...we were in a state park near a Verizon tower. Spent 3 hrs on my phone with tech sup and ended up taking the phone to a Sprint store where they couldn't fix it. Got the new one when we got home. The only thing I could figure with that one was I did a manual update to DI18 on hers from the SD card. That's why I don't want to do a manual update again.

i have never had any 4g issues however i do not use it a lot and i live in chicago so maybe i am in a good 4g area

My 4g is awesome. I don't use it all the time because of the battery drain, but on mobile speed test I'm killin it. I love this phone.
