4G Signal Issues

Hello-

I'm getting a fair 4G signal from my location in DC, however, when I try to surf the net or use an application, there seems to be data transferring at all (in 4G mode). Upon switching back to 3G, I'm able to surf again.

Is this a known issue with the phone or the radio, or is it simply that my 4G signal is currently too weak?

Has anyone tested the 4G signals on the currently available radios to determine which one operates best?

Thank you.

my 4g connection hardly works at all even though the Austin, TX area was one of the first to be 4g covered...I leave it off...

I live north of Austin and usually have 1-bar of 4G. It seems to be more inconsistent than 3G overall - 1 bar to 2 to 0 and sometimes drops to 3G. I have had the issue twice where data just seems to lock up and I have to turn off 4G to get it going again. I have been turning it on almost daily and letting it go a bit to see if it is worse on the battery than 3G. It is, but not as bad as I expected. When 4G works, it is double the speed of 3G for me and yesterday I hit a 5x number.

I don't live in a 4G area but I am visiting a 4G area (Raleigh/Durham, NC) using speed test.net's app on several test downtown Raleigh this weekend (with 2 - 3 bars of 4G) I got much faster 3G speeds than when using 4G.... Don't why but it was pretty dramatic.... on 3G I got 1.4 mbps and on 4G I got .80 mbps..... Only once (in Cary, NC) did I get amazingly fast 4G and it was near 5 mbps while 3G was 1.7 mbps in the same spot.... So it looks like it's going to be how close to the tower and if buildings are getting in the way or not...

I live in Bethesda MD and i am getting one bar 4g and the data downloads great. I can get to any web page instantly.....Faster than 3G

Ditto for Falls Church, VA. 1 bar. no problem downloading. Not tremendously faster than 3G, though. Maybe about 50% improvement.

I've been seeing a lot more 3 bars for my 4G signal in the last few days here in Chicago.
