I have a Galaxy Nexus, and my wife has a Thunderbolt, and I discovered today I can no longer tether when on 4G. The 4G connection still works fine, but can't tether with it. 3G tethering works fine.

I am running AOKP, and I went back to Milestone 6 from JBean, and that doesn't work either. Neither native tethering, or WIFI tether.

Also 4G tethering not working on my wifes Thunderbolt (CM7)

I have come to the conclusion this is a Verizon problem, they may be blocking tethering on 4G now.

Probably an Issue in or around your location.

North Central NJ everything is fine here:

It's been working for me, at least it was last weekend. I'm using Vicious-JB-4.1.1-V1 on mine.

Are you connected to a Verizon network or are you roaming? There is an option for enabling data services while roaming which comes with a warning about incurring significant charges so it's usually disabled. Roaming is a separate option, make sure that you have selected Home networks only.

It may be a similar issue as the 3g tethering issue I encountered a few months ago. For example, on a 3g eHRPD signal u can tether just fine, however on a 3g eVDO signal the tethering will not activate. Maybe you are running on a different 4g signal that won't allow you to tether?

It was working fine a few days ago, and but not now. I think Vzw is starting to block tethering on the unlimited plans, hope not though.

My devices: Nexus 7 & GNex Toro

If you are running a custom ROM with the carrier check removed for tethering then there's really no way they can definitely tell you are using a mobile hotspot unless they painstakingly went through your account and usage to check. Unless you use like 10gb of data a month that's not a likely possibility IMO.
