5.1.1 update

I got the OTA yesterday. Haven't installed it yet. My guess is I'll have to sideload the base image, as I've had to the last few updates. I wasn't really having any of the issues described as issues in 5.1 either.

I'll have time to play around with it tonight.

Just got it this morning (10am e.s.t.). Nothing major to report yet, except that I've been using my phone all day and I still have 68% battery. And my WiFi has yet to drop out. Normally, my battery would be at 35% by now, and my WiFi would've disconnected a dozen times lol. Hafta check the camera for crashes and the flashlight to see if it randomly shuts itself off and won't turn back on without a reboot. Will keep updating as I use LMY48B more. Btw, if anyone is curious, I live in western PA...

Still haven't received it. I can't remember a time when I was part of the first wave of OTAs.

I think they kinda shuffle who gets the OTA's in which batches they send out. Cuz the first 5.0 OTA, I didn't get for almost 2 weeks. Then 5.0.1 and 5.1, I got about a week after it started rolling out, now 5.1.1, I was in the first batch.

got to use 5.1.1 fully today; and I'm loving it; I've been having to power-cycle about every other day here; and so far, I haven't been able to bog the thing down at all today. Totally stock since 5.0...

Battery life is about the same, but I'll do more testing. Really feels like a brand new phone again; I can't put the it down. To full test the new build out; I've done the following so far; torrent a large file, while streaming a pandora; and using Google Earth heavily. I've also updated all apps; and open just about ALL memory intensive apps; netflix, maps, G+, play movies and the new Stories App; it handles it ALL with ease...

After the large 800mb file downloaded, I would usually have to reboot the phone in order to get the file off the phone onto the desktop; didn't have to do that this time..! Again, multi-tasking between youtube, G+ and snapseed with ease. G+ is flying..! The app was really bogging down, taking forever to load a simple picture or Gif, it is totally back to normal now. I've peaked the phone several times, where it is warm but still really performing very well. Camera seems to be ok, the same; auto focus works and video well...

LTE, WiFi, all working well.. I'm really happy with the update...

Is there any word on T-Mobile wifi calling on a Nexus 5 with 5.1.1? I can only find info online about a Nexus 6.

So Now I'm experiencing Major issues with Google Play Music crashing and just not playing songs. Hafta go to apps and force stop then open it back up. Have had this bug since 5.0.1. My phone was Perfect with 5.0. How can I revert back to 5.0?? Oh, and on a side note, the new Photos app, is pretty awesome. Although I believe the backup still backs up your pics to your G+ account, which is ****ty. Idk how to change privacy settings on my G+ account, and there are a Lot of pics that girls wouldn't be too happy with ending up on my G+ account for everyone to see. Or is it set to private by default and I'm the only one who can see my backed up photos unless I share them publicly?? Need some info on this please. I thought the new app deleted all my risqué photos I had on my phone, but then I opened folders, and they were all there. Just don't show up when you're in "photos." I know this isn't about 5.1.1, but just a sidebar....

Got the OTA yesterday. Battery is worse than ever. Charge lasts about 12 hours with light usage (I had the screen on for about 30 - 45 minutes today).
The biggest annoyance for me is that the flashlight no longer shows on the quick launch pull down. Can anyone find the flashlight?
I have a Nexus 5.
UPDATE: my battery was just too low so the OS disabled the flashlight in battery saver mode. Ha. It seems that 50% of my usage with this phone from day one has been in battery saver mode. Terrible battery. I could care less if phones were 2mm thicker to accommodate a decent battery. This race for the thinnest phone is stupid.

I had a bug with Google Play Music too. I uninstalled, and then reinstalled and it was fine.

Got my update Monday. Haven't really noticed a difference in battery life but seems to run well.

Got 5.1.1 about a week ago OTA on T-Mobile. Battery life seems about the same, maybe slightly better or just wishful thinking. Did have a camera crash for the first time yesterday, but hopefully not as frequent as before. Overall not noticing any changes of great significance.

My Nexus 5 was on 5.1 and working OK. OTA update to 5.1.1. 3 days ago. Big mistake.
Random restarts at least 10 times a day sometimes phone is only usable for 2 minutes before it shuts down and restarts again. Boot loops. Takes for ever to restart, and does the optimizing x out of 137 apps.

Now, worse is I can't even power it on it has been boot looping past 10 mins and then now turned off. It is on full charge and I can't turn it on not even to get it into a boot loop no matter what button combination I try.

But if I plug my phone into a charger, it will automatically boot up and go into infinite bootloop and restart every 3 seconds. This even after I get it to the boot loader screen wit the volume down + power button combo. Before I get a chance to go to recovery mode, it will restart again.

Please. Any advice?

Google may have killed my phone and I'm very pissed off.

Don't do it !!!!!!!!!!!

I am knackered after upgrading to 5.1.1

I used to have constant crashing and having to reboot several times before the phone would even switch on into a use able state this happened after 3 days after the update.

Now my screen just will not boot at all the phone is on which I know because I have the white flashing light at the bottom.

but now with no screen I have no way of upgrading to future releasing to a newer version I am unsure of how to flash KitKat back and don't want to void any warranty as I am only 7 months into my 24 months contract.
