I was told you can also take it to Best Buy and visit Samsung Experience and request them to update, but I have a feeling they do the same thing via Kies.
Those who updated to 5.0, it's completely fine right? I just picked up one brand new and wife will be using it, and I am probably more excited then she is, so I just want to make sure everything is set up.

PS: Is it possible to root this device to get rid of AT&T bloatware since she will be using it with Cricket. I am not really interested in loading custom ROM but just get rid of or at least disable AT&T apps.

Yes this device is rootable but go to the XDA developers site at XDA-Developers Android Forums - XDA Forums and search for your device. Mine is on AT&T and is rooted by flashing a lollipop rooted rom. You need to make sure that the root doesn't affect the Cricket network connection. If you find out it's possible and need help feel free to message me. I'm pretty sure you can do it. Just want you to make sure first.

Took it to the local Samsung shop and they did it for me !! Now if I could just figure out the notifications on the lockscreen.... Anyway thanks guys !!!
