$50 Discount on the Galaxy S3

what if im testing a new phone out now for 14 days? i got my $30 loyalty but my 2 yrs is up on the 14th. IF i return this POS nexus will i get the $50 off this s3?

They told me that it's only specific to certain areas. I'm in the 760 SoCal area. Mentioned 'customer loyalty discount' and everything.

She also said that if people were getting discounts they must have been related to the NE2 promotion which ended in January 2011, and since I ordered the phone on a secondary line no discounts cloud be applied anyways.

Verizon sure likes making us jump threw a ton of hoops! Oh well I suppose, it was worth a shot

Hmm. Mine doesn't expire until 7/21. But I couldn't get it.

I had the rep talk to someone in their loyalty department (they actually have a loyalty department) who then had to talk to someone else in another department.

Then I was transferred to the loyalty department and the guy just talked about my early upgrade discount ($30) and something about how he would call me on 7/09 when the phone was shipped to make sure the discount goes through.

So, no $50 discount for me.

not sure how it happened but I ordered mine on verizonwireless, got the 32g white showed price of 249.99 thet added 30.00 upgrade fee( which I dont understand why since it said I was eleigible) then got a qualified customer discount of $150.00 not sure how or why but not arguing..it had me check off keep my plan the same and i was able to keep my unlimited data for 29.99 with tax total was 139.09.. if they didnt charge me the 30.00 upgrade fee my phone would have been 109.00..

I didnt get the $50 discount either , BUT i did get a added $30 upgrade fee (for being a loyal customer) and i did get told that my NE2 was no longer available.

AND

the phone i pre ordered will not ship for over a month.

So no i didnt get a $50 discount, but i do have all those other things going for me.

I had something similar happen to me. Got the 16gb version, my new every two which was only $30, then some extra $100 discount. Ended up paying $109 with the upgrade fee included.

that could be why I got such a big discount, I have a family plan my line is the primay. and there are 4 others besides me on the plan.. either way Iwill take the discount LOL

That would be the NE2 credit. The primary line on family plans and single lines over 79.99 received a $100 or $50 credit depending on when you upgraded last. From 34.99-79.99, the discount is $50 or $30 based on your last upgrade. They got rid of the NE2 in Jan 2011 so anyone who was eligible to get it after that date could use it 1 more time.

WOW VZ never seems to surprise me with all the crap they have done to the consumers. they are lucky im staying with them just because of 4g. if att had better 4g service on the jersey shore id switch to them asap

I upgraded last in Dec. 15,2011(that was my primary line.)
This phone isnt my primary line so guess I am not eligble for the $50 discount.:-\

Very weird, because I last updated my phone in april 2010 and I got the Incredible. I went to preorder this phone and all they gave me was a $30 credit for the NE2 thing which I should've still had and gotten $50.

Should I call verizon and demand the extra $20?

What plan do you have? The $79.99 only applies to the base voice plan, so you'd probably need at least the 1400min one.

I pre-ordered the S3 yesterday and was also given only a $30 discount and I still had a new every 2 left to use. Maybe the $30 was because I have the $39 voice plan and not a higher plan and only one line on the account? What discount should I have gotten for a new every 2?

$30 would be correct assuming you last upgraded in 2009 or later.

Yea I only have a $39 voice plan but total my plan is over $80 lol
