6.0 Marshmallow: Verizon Galaxy Note 5

I noticed today, with the device locked if I wake it and drag down the notification tab and select any notification it auto unlocks and opens that app. I have fingerprint security active. If you select an app it opens to it as stated above and then you can just press the back key and you're at your home screen, security bypassed! This needs to be patched in a quick hurry.
Okay addendum, if you have smart lock active, i.e. a trusted bluetooth device or a trusted place it will unlock to the selected app notification and then the home screen. For testing I turned off my LG Watch Urbane and deleted my trusted place, (home) and when I selected any app notification it requested my pin or fingerprint.

I have yet to try smart lock, so I'm not entirely sure what it does but isn't not having to unlock when near a trusted device what it's supposed to do?

Yeah, you can choose a bluetooth device, an address or GPS location, voice or body detection. I usually use it with my watch and/ or the bluetooth in my car and my address. It works great and when you're not at home or in your car or step away from your phone it locks and would require either the password or fingerprint to unlock. It is also worth noting that after deleting my "trusted place" and reentering it, if I select an app notification it still requires me to either enter my pin or use my fingerprint, though after turning my "trusted device" back on and the watch connecting if I select an app notification it will open without a pin or fingerprint.

That sounds like it could be pretty handy. Unless of course if someone steels your phone and your watch or your car with your phone in it

How do you activate this

You should be able to find it by going to the settings app and use the search function above, just type in smart lock. Then choose how you want to proceed.

Re the calculator, try 132 * 1.08875. There are other ways, too, but this is my favorite way to figure it. If I'm understanding what you trying to do.

RE: "I had the same problem, what worked for me was to uninstall updates for Google Play Services, then update. That took care of the issue for me. "

Thanks. When I try that, I get the following screen:

Any thoughts?

Press manage device administrators and turn them off, then uninstall updates. After that then turn administrators back on.

So this is what happened overnight without touching the phone. Will a factory data reset fix this? If so, does anyone know if smart switch is working yet?

Well, I used Package Disabler Pro last night, chucking VZW, some Sammy apps and all the other obvious crapware, and I hope to see longer battery life, as some of these apps were showing up under battery stats as sources of battery usage. Plus, it just feels good to chuck that crap. :)

I also have my fingerprint access straightened-out (I complained about this earlier in this thread) but it took quite a bit of setting, resetting, unsetting, resetting. I've been an Android owner from the start and I have never been so perplexed over how to get a simple feature to work the way I expect.

That said, I can now predictably use fingerprints to unlock my device (after it's been restarted/started), which is great, but I constantly get the "Select Keyboard" dialog once my fingerprint is recognized. What's up with that??

Phone is still silk. Samsung browser is CRAZY fast. Battery life ends 10%-15% higher than before the update.

New problem this morning. Had the update for 4 or 5 days. Today, I'm getting the message "unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" like every 30 seconds. SMS using stock messenger app seems to be crashing on opening. Reboot didn't help. Am I going to have to factory reset?

After the update I'm having a wifi issue. Certain apps hang up on wifi, mainly google maps and the play store. The play store is prompting me to update about 25 apps. If I try to update all or update individually, I just get a scrolling line that the first one has started but it will never start the download. If I turn wifi off, it will update them over the VZW network.

I can browse the internet on Chrome very fast on wifi. I can even dual screen the play store while it attempts to download and then surf in chrome at the same time.

Anyone else experiencing this? I did do a full factory reset after the update.

I just now ran into an app that when I try to use it says no Internet connection, it's not the Internet because I'm using it for posting this. Not exactly the same problem and I've only noticed it with the one app so far. I do see some slowness in other apps, like loading threads in this one.

It's apparently an issue with my WiFi network. I tried at a friend's house and everything updated fine. Weird!
