6 returns and two phones later, I think I want to go back to G3.

I think you should make decisions on what you have now rather than what you might spend thousands of dollars on in the future. Don't count on investments that don't actually apply to your situation at the moment. After all, you've already demonstrated to all of us how indecisive you can be when it comes to tech hardware.

Yeah I cAn see that. Was just trying to avoid future headaches was all.

Do not create headaches for yourself now by worrying about headaches you might have in the future.

Yeah that makes sense. I often put the cart before the horse.

I still think there's stuff iOS does better than android though. Performance for one. Gotta decide which pros and co s are more important to me I guess. I do like that android is more open, giving me more choice. More choice does mean less focus, though. Meaning updates are not guranteed or timely a lot of times.

I can't agree with that, I think it just comes down to preference...not performance. Nothing wrong with Android...or iOS.

On iMore didn't you say you're using your iPhone now? If so just stick with it so you can get your Mac in the future and use continuity.

Well, I was sorta thinking about that. The thing is I not even going to get the macbook for about another year since I still need to save up. And farms I know there's plenty of people that do use macs with Android.

Also, I'm supposed to be selling the 5S to gazelle for $280 and that offer expires on the 22nd. So I was holding off selling it until I've idea. But I may just cancel that a d keep the phone

So... trolling is bad. We cleaned some of that up. I didn't press any buttons but if we're called back in here - they'll be pressed. If you feel someone is violating the rules, hit "REPORT" - do not engage. If you just don't like a post you can ignore it.

Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friends.

Try the Samsung Alpha. Supposedly it's what the S3 should've been. A replacement of sorts.

You are getting hung up on two great phones. I prefer the m8 or to tell you the truth the iPhone but who cares. Either one is a rally good phone and camera. Just pick one and move on. If you are like me you will be switching before two years anyways. People like you and I loose money on phones. Get over it and embrace it.

So here's the thing, I'm not 100 percent sure I'm going to want to keep the phone I went with (M8) or not. Even though the M8 performs better than the G3, I think I'm going to miss the g3s camera and removable backplate. I also just like the big screen and smaller frame of the g3 more. The problem is I've done a return 6 times trying to decide between the two. I got the g3 three times and the m8 2 times. The problem was I was under some stress during that month I was using these phones, which caused my odd and anxiety to go up. So whenever I saw a bit of lag on the g3 I panicked and returned it right away. But kept going back to it. The thing was I didn't use either of the phones for a extended period of time and see what I liked and didn't like about them. I'm finding the m8 a bit too tall and again I think they'll be times where I will want a better camera. Now, att sn't letting me return the phone anymore due to obvious reasons, which I can't blame them after 6 times I guess. But now I'm stuck with a phone I'm unsure I will want to keep. So now my only choice seems to be Pay the phone off (620 dollars I believe) which will then give me another upgrade. But don't think you can sell a phone to, say, a site like gazelle.com when the phone still has payments on it. And also, laying 600 for a phone then just getting another one seems to be a waste of money, no? But maybe its worth it to get something I want. I don't know, this whole thing is a bit of a money sink at this point.
I know I'm a bit late to the game and don't take this as being sarcastic.

Why not just get a simple flip phone and an LTE mobile data dongle for a tablet or an LTE enabled tablet?

You get a bigger screen with more power with the tablet and a phone that will fit in your pocket.

Just think of the $300 lost on the selling of your existing phone as what seems an expensive life lesson on the impossibility of perfection. Learn from it and don't repeat. Over the course of your life, you'll realize the $300 to be relatively inexpensive.

Alpha and it's anemic battery? If he's deciding between big screens just get the Note 4 and be done with it. It has

-the build quality of the Alpha,
-big battery,
-top of the line processor
-good front camera (since he had refresh M8 envy)
-great screen in line with g3
-good rear camera (some reviews say a touch behind the iPhone 6 and better than the rest)
-Wacom stylus

And the Note series has good resale value down the road too if the upgrade-itis kicks in.

I read through another thread where people were very pro G3, and most had ditched it in favor of the Note 4 and haven't thought twice about. And many from blogs to owners are saying g the whole gap gate is completely overblown.

When I switch to T-Mobile the Note 4 will be my choice from my S4. I was all set to go G3 since LG wisened up with the removable battery and part ways with Samsung, but the more I read, the more the Note 4 seemed like the way to go. The S5 just irks me with that cheap triple lined plastic metal band from 1980. Sony doesn't have a removable battery. I also don't care for on screen buttons especially when the bottom bezel is big enough to support capacitive buttons. Major design flaw. And the M8 just never appealed to me. Too tall for no reason. It's a rare occasion I'm relying on a phone's speakers for quality sound.

Keep the phone and enjoy it

I myself am having a hard time accepting android coming from an iPhone that worked flawlessly I'm on a note 4 now thanks to my wife who had a hard time adopting to the iPhone I will commit to this phone for at least a year it's a beautiful phone but I an so invested into the Apple eco system It makes me not like android oviosly it's not androids fault Apple iBooks and itunes are not on Google Play Store

Enjoy your phone there are more important things in life

As for your iPhone transition. Just download all your I books and iTunes media. ITunes can convert to mp3. Or just just convert the m4a files to mp3. What u saying isn't a big deal. As for just committing for a year I doubt it. If you use the sPen and actually use the Note 4's features going to any phone without the Pen would feel like an addict without his or her drug of choice. (Which is what you are saying u feel now moving to the note 4.)

Android can sync with iTunes. There is am app for that if you look. Doubletwist is the most popular.

I used isync it's not bad but the files can't be read by the DJ app so I have to covert all the files into mp3 and put them in there own folder I'm a DJ over 25 years and I use the iPad to DJ with now and since this phone Note 4 is so large I wanted to use it as well also on the iPhone I am able to organize my sets for events I can't on android across all my devices

Having actually read without being on the go. You say G3(or M8) not S3, my bad. As far as that goes this is what I suggest. You jumped back and forth between 2 flagship phones. So if you go with Android u need a flagship. The G3 is technically identical inside to the S5. Difference is in which interface you like. Thing about Android is you can change that. I lean more I to you staying with Android cause you will have more you can do to get the phone the way you want it. Some suggest you go iphone. My question is this: are you a person that uses the features of a phone or are you just a normal phone user? If you are a normal user then go iphone. IPHONES tend to be better for the less technically inclined. The G3 is very customizable out the door. So you being familiar with the G3 the S5 would be a good choice. Take that bad boy, root, & flash a ROM if you find you don't like Touchwiz.

Some are suggesting a Note 4. Which I think is a great choice bit also a choice that will have more for you to learn having the SPen and all the features that come along with it. Now you say you were stressed so having to learn things may not be what you want. If you can learn the Note is a great choice cause even when you think you got it all, you don't cause there is more. The pen is great. Being able to take notes while on the phone then emailing or texting that note to someone is great. Being able to edit photoshop files and sending that file to your PC do you can do more edits is great. While out at stop n shop and looking at the red box machine and writing down what movies are listed on your phone so you can download them at home later is great. I can go and on about the Note. Multitasking is actually done in a way that allows you to get things done with less stress. I recently had to use multiwindow to respond to my bosses cause they were asking me about a few jobs by their work order number & multiwindow allowed me to copy and paste the numbers into my email so could see which jobs they were referring to so to then respond what happened with each job. I was doing this while standing up on the train. So THE note 4 can be a good choice for you if you intend on using the features. I go Note all the time now. One big thing about the Note series is the use of the Pen and websites. See the pen allows you do more when viewing websites that you cannot do on other phones. You can get at the mouseover drop down menus on websites with the Pen. This alone gets rid of stress for me. Cause website viewing pissed me off a lot. But now not so much (lol.....Due to different webkit versions you always find issues.) But at least the simple part of navigating through a site doesn't make me wanna throw the phone across the street.

So it's all about what you want from a phone. I need a workhorse that allows me to do all that and then some so the Note is great. Dude I like editing images on the phone. I can literally delete the background around a person easier and better on the phone then on the PC. (THE Pen advantage) But you may not wanna do that. You can get a Note 4 and later flash it to how you want it if all that stuff isn't your thing. But at least your camera is good and the phone has the balls to keep it snappy. You get it use it learn the features flash it get it the way you want. Who knows once you start using it you may like the features. Either way at least with the Note you know you got your money's worth whether you use all the features or not. The note 4 current size and being thinner than the note 3 make it fit better in your hand. I have the Note 3 & have seen the Note 4 and it does feel better in my hands and my hands are not large. Its design also still has a good grip to it, unlike the M8's rounded edges. Hope this helps....

Yeah, if I can go back I'd probably get the note 4. But it wasn't out at the time. Or I'd do the G3 again. Even with its bit of lag, it doesn't really have a major flaw.

The reason I was thinking of going back to iPhone was because I also own a iPad and want a mac one day.

I feel like I can relate to the op with going back and forth between android and iOS. I followed what yall said and made a list of my priorities and here they are:
1) battery life
2) navigation
3) music
4) videos/screen size
5) camera

Problem is that they fit both operating systems. :/

Well, with low latency audio hitting with Lollipop, you might be able to DJ fairly well on an Android tablet, and with 64gb and 128gb cards, you can fit a ton of music on there. Go all mp3 and be free of iTunes and the walled garden once and for all. Not that there's anything wrong with the walled garden if it fits your needs.

Though the latency might not mean a thing for the DJ app. Not my area of expertise...
