68.86mb update downloading. I wonder what it is?

I have I317UCAMA4, i saw the update yesterday but was not within wifi range, so it just disapeared and when i tried the check for update again, it said i was current.

Best way to fix that is to go into date and time settings and uncheck automatic time and date. Move the date forward a day, then do do a software update check.

Got the update earlier and now just got a Samsung update. Have no idea what it contains.

Hmm, have not received a samsung update.

For a 69Mb update with no changelog - this is a good update. The phone is definitely snappier - they seem to have done something with the animations - they're smoother now. Then I made a couple cell to cell calls and the voice quality was markedly better - previously it has a very tiny static and was more muffled - now there is no static and it sounds clear and louder. Wifi on the other hand is dubious - one 2.4Ghz AP gives me full speed 18Mbps / 1.9Mbps, the other farther 5Ghz one gives a stuttery 3Mbps/1.2Mbps. Hmm - probably the new powerline adapter to blame.

5Ghz does not typically have the range of 2.4, although the speed can be faster closer in. At least that is true in my dual band router.

For sure, Wifi is faster.. IMDB was always freezes for me but now it just streams everything in sec.

Does anyone know if the update removes root?

After the update I can still bypass the lock screen and access apps if I time it right.

I was able to do this too; Samsung lock screen bypassed entirely with clever, meticulous trickery | Android Central gave me the steps to do it. By the way we're still able to bypass the lock screen, the security glitch was obviously not fixed yet. My phone was already snappy before I updated (as expected), so I didn't notice too much of a difference in speed after updating, but the Wi-Fi improvement was immediately noticeable to me. Let's hope that this update fixed the auto-rotation bug that was introduced after the multi-window update.

After the update, google now crashes consistently if I configure my sports teams. I have to delete the cache and data in google search (settings -> applications) and reconfigure everything except sports teams for it to work. Not a great update.

The screen sometimes does not auto-rotate when the setting is enabled. This issue started since the multi-window update.

I've had the occasional app that locks the screen into landscape until you reopen it or kill it. Also, do you have smart rotation on?

Both Wifi and Moible Data are significantly faster after the update! I am talking about 30 to 60% faster! Either they are really faster or they did something to trick the SpeedTest app. :p

My auto rotate is still broken since first update. Its kind of annoying after dealing with it after 6 months and it still has not been fixed. I thought Samsung was better at fixing things. This is the biggest pet peeve with this phone.

Im gonna bring it to Att and see if they can send it in for a warranty exchange.

My Android central app is all buggy now and crashes constantly.

I got the update and didnt notice anything. I had issues with wifi speeds getting slow after being used. Id have to toggle wifi on and off for it to work properly. Data speeds were fine. But my wifi speed went from 2-3 mbps download to 1 upload. After toggling it off then on again and testing it out it would be at 18-22 to 6-8 mbps. I lm having a new phone sent back for warranty.

For those ppl who have the wifi issue try toggling the wifi and test it again. Also my ping time was very slow when this would happen.

Yup, been having this problem since I got the note2 in january 2013. Toggling is the only way it'll work. Don't bother with sending it in; this problem is widespread and you can find a number of posts in the forum. It's a combo of 4.1.2 and the note2. It's having a crap time of handshaking with the new routers. I've gotten used to toggling wifi now, could probably do it while the note2 is still in my pocket everytime i walk in wifi range.

What this update really does is prevent AT&T users from using the S-Pen without a special data plan

Sorry

just had to throw that out there ;)

You need a data plan to have this phone anyway. Having this phone without a data plan is like having a Ferrari without gas in it.
