Cost. I doesn't help that I'm anal about brand, the cheapest I can find is $25 shipped.

I've used many brands including MIME and Zagg which are premium protectors and expensive. My best advice to you is don't be so anal about the brand and try a cheaper brand. I gave Pleson a try for $8 on Amazon and I have no regrets. It has perfect fitment and an easy installation. I ordered this as a temporary solution until MIME created theirs but I have no reason to switch or ever buy MIME now. I used to be anal but sometimes cheaper is just as good.

What happens if you try to use a case with the max coverage intelliarmor screen protector? Does it just start to peel up? I got two max coverage protectors because having a gap drives me crazy. Unfortunately I scratched the screen somehow and the only way to cover it now is with a screen protector.

I agree. I see no need to spend upwards of $30 for a screen protector. I bought the EZguardz for $6.99 free shipping on eBay and couldn't be happier. More expensive isn't always better.
