6s say messaging has stopped working

My wife's 6s updated two nights ago and now she cannot text new numbers. Texting works fine with existing contacts, but if a new number or contact is used it says massaging has stopped working. Tried cache a partition clear, messaging data and cache cleared. None of that worked. Please help.

Hi, excuse me if this sounds lame but my phone returned to normal once I restarted it.
Worth a try.
