I am currently at 7 hours 45 minutes as I right this and have 12% battery so 8 is reachable if I wasn't barely awake..
Only settings disabled is NFC, Location, and quick memo. For duration of this charge I played Pokemon Gold while phone was paired to a Moga controller. Screen brightness at 28%. Have to say this is my favorite phone and battery is amazing. Given its not prefect this is pretty damn good.
Roughly 25% used

In my Battery Optimization thread, I had just over 7.5 hours SOT with 24% battery remaining. Great job working with your phone! Much rather hear posts about people at least TRYING to work with their device, instead of WHINING about it! 😍

I don't care... I'm not turning my brightness down to 25% and disabling xyz. This phone costs $550 +tax and has a freaking 3000 mAH battery. The battery life on this phone is garb, I have probably 15 screenshots to prove it. A 2 hr 30 min SOT average is unacceptable. *ends rant and waits for root... Back on my nexus 6/HTC one m9 for now*

Edit: you're sot matches your cycle time, that's not real world usage...

I've been reading these threads for a while now and I felt like I need to weigh in as someone who changes devices often and just got a G4 two days ago. For almost every device that I've ever had has had many forum threads about battery life being bad at first and people are always freaking out that they have a defective device, but it almost always has to do with initial setup. I think there are a few causes for this:

1) It takes 3-5 days for the battery to break in
2) The first few days you have a phone you're constantly setting things up, tinkering with settings, which is causing reduced battery life
3) A lot of people don't go in and turn off unnecessary syncing. I'm not saying you need to turn off features that you use, just turn off syncing for google services and apps that you don't use.
4) A lot of times there's a known software issue and a patch comes out in the first few weeks. I've heard reports that there's an OTA update already coming out to people's phones
5) Sometimes an app is misbehaving after the first time installing it. You can usually track this with gSam battery monitor and then make sure that app's sync settings are in check. Sometimes just force closing the app once fixes this as well.
6) After installing a lot of apps, which you do when you first get a phone, you should wipe the cache once. I've found that to help as well.

My only question with this is does anyone else have that "smooth" of a battery graph? It looks as if the phone was just sitting on a table not being used. If it were being used you would see jagged lines from time to time when apps are starting up, multiple apps running, etc.

My stats as of right now & fresh from photoshop 😜😜😜

That's pretty awesome. My guess is that tasks not activating the high power cores (or activating them very little) will get good battery life.

I'm a sucker for acronyms ....:)
But it is odd to get on the warpath about battery and then say you won't change anything.
I want to lose 25 pounds, but I'm going to keep eating burgers and not work out. OK,Good luck with that.

I was performing one text the entire charge of phone so it was a consistent drain

Bro, the first thing that I do on any android advice is go to accounts and disable sync. It didn't really make a lick of difference. Maybe 30 mins. I'm not new to android, been at it since the droid 3. If you want me to be more specific droid 3 -> galaxy nexus -> galaxy s4 -> htc one m7 -> lg g3 -> htc one m8 -> nexus 6 -> htc one m9 -> lg g3, so you aren't telling me anything new. Don't get mad because I am calling it like I see it. Gracias

Well I can say for certain that when I turned off the syncing it helped mine, and I have been in Android phones since cupcake.

As it has been said, no 2 phones will ever give identical results and every phone will vary daily if usage is different.

I'm not a power user anymore, I have no need to be. A power user does more than a person like me and depending on what folks are doing, and how they have things set up makes all the world of difference on battery life.

I despise it when folks talk in absolutes when they say something I do is impossible and allude that I am a liar just as 1 clown did recently... That chaps my hide. Here we are again with folks doing the same damn thing to someone else...

30 minutes longer is a improvement... 30 minutes longer is a good percentage of the whole.

Personally I think we should rate the phone with... Light moderate and heavy usage. Everything syncing, moderate syncing, some... Then we can do time with cell signal, time without too..

There are all kinds of users... There are all kinds of scenarios for setting up the phone.

For myself and my usage getting 6 hours screen time is pretty good... For someone else it may not be so...

Thank you. I don't really care if everyone believes me or not. People need to realize my conditions were very optimal because I have absolute perfect cellular where I was and the emulator I was using is very power efficient apparently. When I use this phone for an entire day I manage 3-4 SOT so it's not like I have some completely different phone.

I started this game at beginning of test and emulator was fast forwarding so time is double amount I've actually played so far
