A 4G question

I got my Xoom with the uograded 4G radio yesterday. My question is will the Xoom revert to us I g the 3G radio if I am in an area without 4G service?

I was wondering if you have a 4G phone from Verizon...can you pop the SIM into the Xoom and use data?
