a few random questions

Hi everyone,

I'm enjoying this new Galaxy S7 but have a few random questions if anyone can enlighten me (I'm recently converted from Apple iphones because I'm sick of the "walled garden")

1. Is there a way to disable the stupid alert that I shouldn't turn the volume up beyond a certain point? When I plug the phone into my car, I want the volume all the way up on the phone... and it keeps turning it back down after I unplug from the car
2. Are we likely going to be able to root the snapdragon version of the phones?
3. What's the best way to get rid of the bloatware that Verizon / Samsung pre-installs on the phone? Do I have to wait for a root'd version of the ROM before I can completely remove stuff?
and last, but not least:
4. If my SIM card is in the microSD slot right now, what happens when I want to expand my memory? Is there a way to copy over the SIM card data to whatever microSD card I put in? (this is where my iPhone-centrality really shows, right?)

Thanks. :)

1. Not that I know of.
2. Not aware too sorry. I have an Exynos so not following Snap820.
3. You can disable them via Package Disabler, or just disable them outright from the app manager. On a side note what bloatware did Samsung put on your phone? I actually had to download Samsung apps since they didn't come with my phone. The default music player was Play Music, and the Samsung Music app was to be installed still from the Play Store or Galaxy App Store. Even the Microsoft apps were just links to install the app and were not preinstalled.
4. Since you are using the Snapdragon you don't have dual sim, hence, you don't have the SIM in the microSD slot. The tray has two slots: one for the SIM and one for the SD card. The bigger slot is for the SD card. So you don't have to worry about anything. And no, you cannot copy data from the SIM to an SD card. Stuff don't work that way.

Samsung didn't really pre-install that many apps: Email, My Files, S Health, S Voice, Samsung Gear, Samsung Milk Music (so not much). Verizon pre-installed about 9 apps (and they auto-start 30-day trials of some of the "premium" services like Visual Voicemail TM). Did your carrier pre-install bloatware?

Thanks for the answer on the SIM card / SD card dilemma. :)

Nope. Nothing. I even had to download their services app where I can see their record on my data usage. The only thing they did that I can see was the boot animation and sim lock.

For Samsung, same as yours excepr Milk Music. Don't have. Rhay.

For question #1, you could try an app called Hearing Saver. I'm not sure if it will work when you plug your phone to your car. But it definitely works with headphones.

That's funny regarding #1...I have the same fantasy about that dialog. Had it on my BB as well, so I kinda got used to it.

If you are in the US, from what I just read on AC regarding rooting, the US carriers have made it so that rooting isn't realistic.

As pointed out, your card holder has two slots for your SIM card and one for your microSD and they cannot be minged as the slots are pre-sized for each card...eg. the SIM card can only be used in the SIM slot and the MicroSD can only be used in its slot.
