I've noticed quite often lately, that when I connect my cell phone to my soon to be ex husband's wifi that it immediately starts to download a file. It's very brief, lasting only 2 seconds at most. Then it's done leaving no record of what was just downloaded. I have all my settings set to NOT automatically update and everything is set to use mobile data as well as wifi as I have unlimited data. And I've always preferred to update manually. Weirdly, my ex NEVER connects to his own wifi, even though it never has a password and is always set to open. Even for his iPad or laptop, he always connects to his Verizon Jetpack. He has admittedly put spyware on my laptops in the past. Could this be something he's doing? Or does anyone have another explaination for this happening? I know for sure it only happens at his house, never at my work, a friend's or on my own home wifi. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S8.

Could it be Google Instant Apps doing an update? This happens frequently to me and it's very quick. Only by having the notification shade open can I see what it is. Once it's done, it's gone.
