A Motorola Nexus device with an ATOM CPU and 1080p screen.

I'm also excited and hoping that Moto will make a Nexus phone soon. But if they make it with a keyboard, then I'm out. No slide-out physical keyboard for me.

Seriously we need to at least consider the possibility of this not being a phone or tab at all. If we're to presume that rnexus stands for RAZR nexus then a physical keyboard makes no sense... unless of course you think outside the box and consider the possibility of an ultra thin and portable netbook/notebook type device. We have an undisclosed screen size so its certainly within the realm of possibility.

That's a really good point, this could be also be a tablet with removable dock, perchance the Nexus 10?

Well consider this as well, earlier this year we had rumor of up to 5 nexus devices, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a bunch of OEMS to put out a few phones and tablets against each other with little to no differentiation. In that situation we hit a snag where there's at least one red headed step child in the bunch, a nexus device that just sells relatively poorly and in all likelihood receives far less support from the dev community. On the other hand we could have 5 very different nexus devices a nexus phone, a nexus 7 and 10, nexus q (hopefully with gtv support and other bells and whistles) and a nexus book to round out the 5 devices. Then you have 5 happy OEMS all getting early peaks at the latest greatest android and not having to worry about their nexus competing with another nexus as they'd all cover very different market niches.
This is just what would make sense to me and I'd like to think googles brain trust has at least as much forethought as a guy watching the mobile industry from the outside.

Before the first iPhone, I was using a Sidekick on T-mobile, and the main reason I didn't adopt the iPhone right away was because it didn't have a keyboard. Now, I couldn't go back to a phone with a keyboard. Not even in a high end device.

If it were indeed an Enterprise focused phone I could see there be a demand for it, but not as the primary consumer Nexus...unless of course it had one of those nifty holographic keyboards rather than a physical one...one can dream.

If it's thin enough you can just choose to not use the keyboard.

What if it's not a RAZR at all, but a RIZR? Wasn't this an evolution of the OG RAZR? I agree that a keyboard Nexus makes little sense at this juncture. That is, of course, unless the multi-Nexus rumors are true....

Ah.. The RIZR.

As much as liked the RIZR line, I think it'd be weird if Motorola started bring back other lines like the RIZR and SLVR.

Well if Motorola will be joining the nexus flagship then I hope they will not use amoled anymore.. if they do.. even how great their specs are I won't buy it. Anyway one way or the other I'm not buying nexus this year. I'll go w/ Asus this time. padfone 2.
