A question for runners: why can't I set my "Auto Lap" to anything less than .4 miles?

Talk about making no sense to me! When I am running, I like to be notified every quarter-mile. (In a perfect world, I'd like to know distance and pace, but that's another discussion.) In the Samsung Health app, I can turn on a notification to do so, called "Auto Lap". However, in the running mode, the lowest it will allow is a .4 mile. (In the walking mode, it's called "guide frequency" and I can indeed set that to a quarter-mile distance.)

Anyone else notice this? Or, if not, could someone please test yours to see if you get the same results? Four-tenths of a mile is just a really bizarre starting point to pick. I can't imagine why they would have picked this from an athletic or a technological standpoint.

Thanks for any helpful info.

Fellow runner here, and yes I did notice this. I'm fine with a one-mile notification cadence so I didn't look much into it, but I can confirm that I can't select an auto-lap below 0.4 miles. That's awkward.
