A transfer of contacts to new phone, all numbers show text symbol on work, landline etc,

When I transferred my contacts from my old Android phone to an LG - G5.(with the latest version on both phones) The result being ALL phone numbers are assigned the text symbol whether they are mobile or landline numbers.
How do I save the cost of my provider charging me to send my text ($0,25) per call to a landline?

Of course, I delete the offending symbol plus phone number. As that appears to be the only solution with maybe 300 contacts.
Any suggestions?
