Ok, newbie here when it comes to the Big Phone Watch, so please bear with me. This is not criticism, it's curiosity.

We've had release date rumors up the ying yang, false advertisements from Best Buy, speculation to beat all speculation ...

Why do you assume that because there is yet *another* carrot minus a release date dangled in front of our faces that the phone will be out next week?

As others have alluded to, this is different. While Verizon may not have a standard "launch announcement" procedure, they do have a standard release procedure. So this is all sop for them regarding a phone actually releasing. I mean the employees need to know what's going on before it releases and having worked in retail (Best Buy) we never took training more than a week in advance because they wanted it to be fresh to us.

It does make sense that you'd not want training a month or more away. I don't know about you but I'd forget more than I'd learned in that kind of time frame. Thank you all for helping me to understand.

In latest twitter news: "verizon htctbolt device showcase" is now in the market. Do not download it. Its for promotional use for the dummy units in the Verizon store.

No offence but the ad has been screwed the last 3 weeks so I dont think this week is any different. There or not it doesn't tell us anything. Thanks for sharing though .

You absolutely correct. Alot of people don't understand that in order for BB to release a phone their VZW rep has to give the permission to do so.
