A very good sign

were you guys able to download the videos? mine downloaded, but then said error downloading them.

It did on mine ... But it took up too much application data space on my DInc so I played with it for a while and then uninstalled it.

I'm not rooted (as I picked DInc up only recently as a temp phone) .. and no it did not seem like auto brightness had turned off.

edit1: holy crap my screen timeout was turned off too :S
edit2: now my vibrate was set to "only on silent" and my phone ringer was changed.

Thanks for the article.

So even they cannot find any mention of skype in there.
Disappointing.

well skype is one of the deciding factors for me getting this phone so.....I dont know if I will be getting this phone right away or not.

Just use Tango... or Yahoo Messenger... or one of the 50 other video chat apps out there. I'm sure they will add Thunderbolt support in no time.

Not sure why everyone loves Skype.

to help answer, personally, i have been using skype since it's release (on the pc that is). it was the next coolest thing after ICQ (aol bought them). I have many contacts on skype, most who are overseas (family and friends - they are mostly pc contacts, they dont have skype on their phones). The problem with the other vchat apps is that i dont think (and dont know) if they can work via my potential tbolt to their pc's.

also, i've seen skype work on my brothers iphone4 (vzw) and it is just great how well it even runs on 3G. pretty smooth, no 'hiccups.' (this is a 9 month old device)

And yes I would love to have Skype. It is what we use to talk to my parents and show them their grandson, and my parents are NOT tech savvy at all. It took an hour to get them to download, register, and understand Skype. Asking them to do another program would be terrible.

Because the majority of people using that type of program are using Skype and it's extremely easy to use.

This is great news! I can hardly wait until the box/phone is in my hands next week.

Ok, newbie here when it comes to the Big Phone Watch, so please bear with me. This is not criticism, it's curiosity.

We've had release date rumors up the ying yang, false advertisements from Best Buy, speculation to beat all speculation ...

Why do you assume that because there is yet *another* carrot minus a release date dangled in front of our faces that the phone will be out next week?

Because this is what happens the week/two before a launch. This is more than what the other stuff is....

but who knows for sure.
