A50 Security Scan not scanning Facebook

[Android Central Question]

I have a Samsung A50 phone. The Security Scan lists the apps being scanned but Facebook is not listed. Facebook is pre-installed on the phone. It cannot be uninstalled. It can only be disabled or Force Stop. My question is should the Security Scan be scanning Facebook app?

What type of scanner is this? Malware, antivirus, Google safe app?

Did this app come installed on the device or from your carrier?

As for being a Google Safe app, the Google Play Store does everything it can to stay on top of apps to ensure they are OK to use. It's not perfect but no outside app should be needed for this, unless you are getting apps directly from the internet or other app sources outside of the Google biosphere. Since Facebook was preinstalled and is updated by Google Play it would most likely be considered a trusted app, and therefore excluded from safety checks. You may find other preinstalled apps in this category as well.

If this is one of those apps that I previously warned you against having installed on your device, FB may not appear in the list because it often produces false positive hits in these junk malware and antivirus apps. Actually most of the hits they return are false positives and lead to the scare tactics mentioned in the article I've attached.
