So.. I've been flipping thru some of the older posts, and I've yet to find a solution to this oddity I'm experiencing.

Essentially, I traded my Storm 2 for a regular Droid yesterday (to tide me over until my upgrade comes up in Nov). Everything is working exceedingly well... except, that I can't seem to get any of the calendar to work.

I've tied the device into my Google account, and have verified I have plenty of scheduled tasks and events in my calendar.. but the ability to sync the calendar never shows up on the phone.

Under: Settings>Accounts&Sync>xxxx@gmail.com
Sync Contacts
Sync Gmail

There's no option to select Sync Calendar at all.

Additionally, if I go into the calendar, I can see dates, but there is no data.. if I go and try to select a date, it tells me I have no calendars.

If I select Menu>MORE>Calendars

There are no calendars listed.. just the ability to press OK, or Cancel.

Any thoughts? I've already tried to do a factory reset on it.. with no luck. Would it be best to just reload the entire 2.2 (since it's the most recent) onto the device?

Just at a loss here.

Hmm... Maybe there isn't a calender app on there. Try dl'ing something from the market. I suggest smooth calender.

Ooo.. I like the way Smooth looks, unfortunately it (like many of the apps) seem to be a shim or appearance change. The 'guts' or the 'backbone' of Smooth seems to be the base level calendar, and since I can't get a calendar going for some odd reason, it's not that helpful (yet ;)

One thing a co-worker noted on his i*hone is that he has to select the devices he wants his google sync to work with. (It lists his various mobile devices and the like) I'm wondering if I'm missing that within my calendar or something (There is the mobile SMS feature, but that's only for notifications when you've got an appointment coming up)

Maybe I'll start yelling on twitter to see if I can get Google's attention.

Resetting the entire device again seems to have fixed it. I did this as the recommendation of a friend that works for VZW. Her comment was as follows: 'Sometimes the overly zealous salesreps will interrupt the initial sync, and screw things up... best to reset it yourself and see what it does'
