About had it with the Galaxy S5 already

After 4 1/2 days with the S5, I'm getting really close to returning it. Besides the fact that it tells me to check the battery cover seal every few minutes, and often the phone takes several seconds to wake up using the power button, now this:


WHY IS MUSIC PLAYER AND SOME "MEDIA" APP USING ALL MY BATTERY!!!!!!?????

I think you have a lemon. Swap it out for a new one. I have none of these problems.

You can check a box to tell it to never show the check case message again.

Mine doesn't instantly wake up by the button press, but the 1\2 second it takes isn't that big of a deal.

Thanks for the replies. Any ideas on the "Music" and "Media" apps using my battery? I'm on AT&T, FYI.

Have you tried turning those apps off? I dont have any of these issues, but I turned them off and I'm on Verizon.

The first thing I did when I got this phone was go into applications and turn off a TON of ****.

Factory reset it. If that doesn't solve the issue then return it.

Thanks again. I'll try a factory reset tonight.

Anyone know what those 2 apps are? I can stop the music app, but not disable or remove it, and I can't even find the "media" thing...

Factory reset it. If that doesn't solve the issue then return it.

I returned mine. It sucks. I'm back on my S4 and happy. I also can talk on the phone now and browse the web again.

When you turn it on. Of if you take the battery cover off and all. It says check the battery cover and the charging port to make sure they are closed so it will be water tight.
Got mine at 10:00 April the 11th. The phone gets great reception. Got rid of a lot of the apps that wants you to pay for them.
Still trying to learn the phone. But I get Txt messages, Emails. Phone calls.
Don't rightly know where voice mail is yet oh unless I call myself.
Not fixing to take it back.

I'm right behind you. Now my gmail will not auto sync to save my life. I've tried EVERYTHING. Sometimes it works, but it takes like 15 mins to an hour. Every once in awhile it does it right away. Fail.

Don't know what you mean by "loading". I have all of my music on an SD card, but I don't even use that "music" app, I have Power Amp.

Turn OFF Media Player and Music Player. Only turn them on when needed.
