And they mean everything!
It was only about two weeks ago that rumors around the wireless community sprang up about Verizon Wireless preparing to offer unlimited calling plan packages from the basic unlimited voice plans to the top tier plan adding unlimited texting, data and other Verizon Wireless exclusive features.
Soon after Verizon's official announcement, AT&T and T-Mobile jumped in on the party and announced similar plans that all went public and are now available to both new and existing customers. That left the fourth large wireless provider out of the mix until today.
Sprint announced today that, beginning tomorrow, February 28, it will be offering a $99 unlimited wireless plan that looks to offer more than the other providers. Sprint's "Simply Everything" plan offers unlimited voice, text messaging, e-mail, web surfing, Sprint TV and Music services, GPS navigation, Direct Connect and Group Connect -- for phones that support the features.
Dan Hesse, president and CEO, Sprint Nextel says "This is a bold move. Wireless today is about much more than just voice. It is about data services - texting, email, video, pictures, music, navigation, surfing the Web and more. Customers want these applications, but without complexity and without having to worry about their bill. The $99.99 Simply Everything plan delivers it all right to the palm of their hand now."
Sprint's "Simply Everything" plan supports both the CDMA and iDEN networks which is good news for Nextel customers as well. Similar to the recently unveiled unlimited plans from the other big name providers the "Simply Everything" plan is available to both new Sprint/Nextel customers with a 2-year contract as well as existing customers without a contract extension.
Sprint also offers modest discounts for multiple ordered lines under the "Simply Everything" package. Each additional line after the first line ordered will cost $5 less per month before taxes and fees.
Along with the "Simply Everything" plan, Sprint is offering unlimited text, GPS navigation, and data plans with two tiers of voice minutes. The "Everything 900" plan offers all of the add-on services but with 900 anytime minutes as opposed to the unlimited voice for $89.99. The "Everything 450" plan offers 450 anytime minutes, again, with all of the extra unlimited features. These two tiers offer unlimited nights and weekends as well as unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling among the Sprint community.
With Sprint's announcement today, all of the big names are all in on the unlimited calling plan, however, since Sprint has decided to include all of its add-on services in its "Simply Everything" plan it might help the troubled wireless provider get back in the wireless game and gain some new customers. - See more at: DailyTech - Sprint Takes Unlimited to Another Level: $99 Unlimited Everything
