AC: The end of Nexus: This year's Google phones to forge new path

October 4th according to android police
Thanks.

A bit further away than I'd like, but hopefully it gives them time to make stock of all colours and models this time around.

Last year with the Nexus 6P, I wanted the white models, but they weren't available at launch here, so I had to get the silver.

I will miss the name but if the philosophy stays what's the difference. My biggest concern is pricing. My nexus 4 was $350 brand spanking new (for one of the best phones on the market, what a steal) . I won't be surprised to see this go for twice that. Look how overpriced googles "pixel" chrome books are. We should expect the same here. I really want to get it. But I don't know if it's worth the extra cost over oneplus or honor.

I am not going to pay more for less. If they're going to price it like an iPhone but only support it like Android, then I may well find myself becoming an iPhone convert. (Hack, cough, gag).

Samsung has already lost me with the Note7 curved screen, lag, and battery issue... not to mention price. They no longer make a single phone that interests me. I can only hope that will change in the future.

The LG V20 sounds interesting but I have no interest in boot loop issues and am not sure about their skin.

Merlin/Pixel XL looks to be my remaining Android hope for 2016. I really hope it's an all around winner.

They chose the name Pixel in order to charge you more. ($699 and $799)

Is that rumor posted anywhere? So far I've seen $450/$600 as the rumored prices for Sailfish and Marlin.

What boot loop? V20 is something I'm looking at too.

I'm willing to pay that much for the smaller one but it darn well better not be a compromise phone and have premium specs.
