Accelerometer Issue

I have been using the GT-P1000 since June 2011 and started facing this issue in mid-2012, when Samsung pushed a patch update for the device. I haven't bothered since as I used the tab in portrait mode only. However, recently I purchased a cover for it with a kickstand and now it's bugging me.

The accelerometer does not work and the AndroSensor app shows "waiting for event" for gravity, accelerometer, magnetic field and orientation.

Currently I am running CM11 nightly on it. Is there a solution?
