Accelerometer Quit Working

Two nights ago, the accelerometer on my Fascinate stopped functioning. I knew it was two nights ago, because when I woke up I found that my alarm had not been tracking movements during the night, as it's supposed to and always has.

I can't think of anything that had changed - on CommRomm I've had issues with the launcher rotating, but all other apps have been fine. But now, nothing will rotate. I've tried turning on/off screen rotation, flashed into recovery & wiped my cache / davlik cache, but to no avail. The calibrate option in the display settings doesn't indicate any movement at all - it shows the dot dead center at all times.

Could this be a hardware issue, or what can I do to resolve it?

this just happened to me - first, make sure you have the orientation option turned off, (i found the answer on xda), and you have to have root permision, go into your data/system on the root of your phone and delete ms3c_yamaha.cfg. Reboot. Turn orientation back on. That's what did it for me at least. It happened to me when my phone ran out of juice while i was in the middle of playing a game that used the accelerometer.

That totally worked! Thanks for the tip, it's been driving me mad.

Now, I just have to figure out how to get back to the tabbed phonecall screen.

Not sure on that one, if that's the stock phone program, i don't even use it. I use "Dialer2" I believe its called. I prefer that one because when i hit the phone button, it immediately takes me to the dialer screen with my most recent calls at the top, just one less step i need to take to call someone back. No one leaves voicemails anymore!!!

If you're referring to the tabbed answer option, that's found in the TSM parts in settings. Go into Misc settings and it's right there.

Yep, I have the TSM set to the tabbed dialer but I still get the puzzle when recieving a call

Try setting it to puzzle, backing back out to home and then changing the setting back to tab. If that doesn't work, try setting it to tab and rebooting.
