Why does contacts (under google and accounts) have a syncing error (has been like this for nearly 2 yrs)?

Is there anything I really need to have checked off (under google *app data, calendar, drive, gmail, and contacts*)?

For back-up assistant plus it has daily schedule (with 3 different choices for when it's done) is it needed?

I remember seeing that kind of issue when I was on Verizon and had a Razr Maxx. I'd see those sync errors, and yet all of my contacts were synced correctly. Do you notice any problems with your actual contacts?

I recall that sometimes, the ICE (In Case of Emergency) contacts could cause a sync error if they also weren't in your Google Contacts somehow. Not sure why this would be the case, but it's something that sticks in my memory.
 
I don't see any problems with actual contacts. I'm just trying to clear out unnecessary syncing.
 
If the ICE contacts aren't the issue, and as long as all of your contacts are in your Google account, you could go to Settings>Apps>All, select Contacts and Contacts Storage, and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Then let the contacts sync again. Does it still say there's a sync error?
