Account issue in Play store

I am hoping someone can answer a question to resolve an issue...

Firstly: The issue is that some apps in the store (but not all, bizarrely) will not allow me to use my gmail company account (it is my own company) to complete in-app purchases.
I have another xxx@googlemail.com account that can be used and is linked/managed in the same screens.

The devices in question are
a) Sony Xperia Z5 (Android 6.0)
b) Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 (Android 5.0.2)

However, the issue is that I cannot seem to force the app to use/see the xxx@googlemail.com address to process the payment.

Short of removing the (primary) corporate gmail account (which Google say cannot be used for app purchases in the store...ever) from my devices, can anyone suggest how to do this?

Have you tried contacting Google Support? via chat or via email.
