I just received a Samsung Galaxy S3 as a gift and it came preloaded with the Accuweather Clock Widget that shows on my home page. I really like this widget but it keeps displaying Centigrade rather than Farenheight on the home page screen. Only in the 3rd layer does F? show up. I've gone into my settings and tapped the F? button, hit done and then I get some F? displays but when I return to the home screen it's C? that's showing. Can anyone suggest how to get the display to show F? on the home screen for the widget? It's driving me nuts as I don't "read" C?. Thanks.

Try deleting the widget, and replacing it with the same one. The settings may not change the widget permanently until you do. To replace it, long press the home screen and a widget option should come up.

I tried your suggestion of deleting the widget (dragged it to trash) and reloading the same widget from the widget screen but the home screen is still giving me that pesky C? setting. My phone thinks its British.

Try language and input. See if that is set to US.

Tap on the widget and it will take you to the full weather screen. Tap on the pop up menu button on the lower left of the phone screen. You will see Settings. Tap on Settings and you will see where you change the Unit value.

Yup, done that about 100 times and it still won't change the screen temp or the temps in the next layer of display to F?. This is how it goes: home screen exhibits C?, I tap the display and the week's forecast screen displays a week of temps in C?, I tap the MORE button and it takes me to the Current Weather screen that finally displays in F?. I tap the MENU button and select my unit of measure as F?, press DONE and Voila, back to C?.

The Help Menu says to ensure that JavaScript is enabled on my web browser settings then go to my settings. I don't know how to do that (I'm so new to this phone and so NOT techie I don't even know how to find my web browser) or that I need to talk to Samsung because it's a device issue. So, I guess I've got more than one problem - mostly user created!

Your web browser is the globe shaped icon that says internet below it on the bottom of the screen in a row of icons with (L-R) Phone, Contacts, Messaging, Internet, Apps. Provided you haven't changed the default icons. You can also download from Google Play a number of third party browsers like Firefox, Chrome & Dolphin for example.

Downloaded Firefox and enabled JavaScript on it and tried changing the settings via Firefox to no avail. Thinking I might just have a bad Widget.

I seem to remember that there are two setting screens in Accuweather, one for the main program and another for the Widget.

I do not have my phone with me right now, but I recall that you had to tap in a spot somewhere on the widget to bring us the widget's settting screen.

Trying tapping on various areas on the widget itself, you should eventually find the right spot.

Thank you all for your input, suggestions, instructions and kind patience. I think we got it figured out. My husband just got a Rugby Pro and was playing around with his menu and this is what he found: Touch Settings Icon; Under the Personal heading is a setting for Lock Screen: Go to Lock Screen Options; Tap Weather (you may have to turn this on with the slider); Tap Unit; Chose F? or C?. After I did this I reloaded the AccuWeather Weather Clock Widget and it still showed C? so I powered down the phone, turned it back on, turned on the WiFi and refreshed the screen. Voila! My temperature shows in F?. Feeling paranoid I turned off the phone for awhile and when I turned it back on it still showed in F?.

I guess I need to just dive into the multiple layers of screns and settings to see what this thing can do. This phone is such a quantum leap forward from my 5 year old Eternity that it's a little intimidating for this technologically challenged person.

Have a fabulous day everyone!
