Acer C720 Chromebook - Are you interested?

Software updates have cleaned that up pretty well on the Samsung and the new Haswell processors that they started putting in the new models that began coming out at the end of 2013 completely did away with some of the choppiness issues. If you're getting video issues on the C720, it's more likely from wifi interference than the hardware getting bottlenecked.

FWIW, I stream from Netflix and NHL GameCenter on my C720 all the time, and the video playback is surprisingly smooth.

I own the Samsung Chromebook Series 3 (and am quite happy with it), so I'm not looking at the Acer Chromebook C720 as a purchase (I want my next chromebook to be a higher end model, so the recently announced Samsung Chromebook 2 models are tempting), but if I was in the market for an entry-level chromebook with only Wi-Fi, the Acer C720 is the one I'd buy. With the Celeron Haswell (i.e. good battery life) and relatively light weight, it definitely beats the now-aging Samsung Series 3. It's too bad Acer didn't introduce this chromebook in late 2012, rather than the too-heavy, poor battery life model they actually did release then. (The Samsung Series 3 was vastly superior to the late 2012 Acer chromebook.)
