Could there be some data corruption somewhere?

I guess I'm looking at Odin back to stock, then redo the ROM?

Should I try a different ROM?

Yes that could be your next step is to try Odin back to stock and root over again. There might be some residual data corruption left deep in the system that keeps coming back.. We tried kernels, wipes, reflash the ROM so thats about all that is left.
