[ACS][ROM] Leaf Rom - 0.2

EF27 does not increase the internal memory space. It basically fixes an issue with the red LED, plus some roaming stuff. As for going from 102 to 118 after flashing leaf ROM, that makes sense as some unneeded bloatware from sprint was removed. When you updated google maps and loaded 3 other apps, I'm sure that is what caused you to drop to 85 mb free. Leaf ROM did not cause that drop.

Once you installed leaf ROM, sprint no longer thinks you have EF27 installed, so it will try again, and fail since you changed the apps on the phone. shabby released a small file somewhere in this thread that will updated your build.prop file so that you no longer get the update message.

glad you got odin working, i have a test cwm.

as for shabbyleaf i had suspected this day would come, however so many people can still use it to remove bloat and send rinttones and bootani's

I'll probably end up removing the send rom section and just do things for customization. Using odin to flash is just as easy anyway if you just follow directions. With just customization options, ShabbyLeaf would work with any Android phone since it's just basic adb commands. Maybe I'll get the Android app finished soon

Sure. Sorry for the late response though, I fell asleep after an all nighter. I just can't do those anymore..

Edit: Now that we have cwm and we can use ACS Updater, my app would be pointless. I've started reading about how to compile roms and what not to play around with instead. :) That ought to be a fun project even if I get nowhere with it

Quick couple questions,
I installed the leaf rom and I believe everything is going well.

I was thinking about making some custom boot screens, but as this is my first time doing any of this rooting.
All I have to do is create the image and at the correct size, but how do i get the timing down?
Say I want the screen to change colors from red to green to blue, how do i keep the red image for 10 seconds then the green for 10 seconds and then the blue for 10 seconds?

sorry if that is confusing, i would just like to be able to get an idea so i can make some cooler bootscreens for everyone.
(open to any love or hate, just give a beginner some help =P)

Here is my simple boot animation to give you a basic idea. The zip file must not be compressed, you have to use "store" mode. "desc.txt" is how you control size and speed:

Code:
240 320 4
p 0 0 part0

240 320 is the width and height
4 is frames per second (mine was a very, very simple loop.)

I can't remember p 0 0 part0 right now since I'm pretty tired, but you can look it up pretty easy on Google. I do remember that part0 means play that folder though. This lets you setup multiple sections for people like you who want to play so many frames, then switch to something different. I'll look for a link for you later today when I wake up if you haven't already found a resource.

Thanks, as of now I'm on vacation in cali, so once I get back to wisconsin ill try making some newer designs, thanks for the help.

So hey shabbypenguin
What does the test kernel you put up do?
I see no difference and idk if it even change the name in setting because it just has some numbers and that's all..
It would be cool if u can overclock it to at least 800mhz and also the gpu overclocked too

...it has init.d support as well as removing sprints logmein service. i also made adb start on boot as root.

Just what he describes, I don't imagine much (if anything) else.

EDIT: Here is that link I promised earlier, too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1096068 Sorry for the delay, I lost internet for awhile. Here is a another link with what I feel is better for adding sounds for boot animation since it uses /data/local: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8274824&postcount=2

whats up dude, my name is corey and im lookin for a little help. ive heard alot about your custom roms and looking forward to rooting and roming my replenish. my dad referd me to you and said get on and ask him if he can walk you through the steps to rooting and downloading leaf rom. this is my first time rooting and dont want to brick my phone, i just cant seem to find all the info i need and or instructions to complete this hack. if possible email me at coreydavisr92@hotmail.com and or reply back here with some hint and tips. i appreciate your time, thanks

First of all, do you have the ED23 baseband, or the EF27?

As far as I know, there is no way to root the EF27 yet.

To find out which one you have, go to Settings, then About phone, then scroll down to Baseband version and look at the last four digits.

You can root EF27 easy-- I did it. Just run the bat file or whatever while the phone is booting up.

U can but the thing is when u flash leafrom to the replenish it will change to ef23? I think ef23
But things will change when shabby release a updated Rom

I'm kind of a noob to this as well and I am not sure if I did something wrong. I rooted with KMS (I have super user etc so I am pretty sure it worked) and then ran ShabbyLeaf. It did not work so when I ran it a 3rd time I ran the LeafRom bat when my phone booted. That seemed to do the trick. I did the factory reset and rebooted. Under About Phone I have everything the same as the screen shot on the first page with the exception of under Baseband version I have "S:M580.06 x.EF27" instead of 23. The reason I am wondering if it worked is that my launcher has not changed and I still have SprintID and Rescue which I thought were removed. The homescreen looks to be the same as when I first bought the phone. other than the new build number I don't see a difference. I know this is supposed to be a minimal change but I just wanted to make sure I did the right thing. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Are you sure you ran the right bat file. Things should look a lot different. So it seems to me you did not run it properly. How did you not already have EF27 since sprint pushed it out some time ago. Did you withhold the update? I would have thought you would have already been at EF27.
