Can you explain to me why I can activate in stock rom but when I flash it show 1x for my net speed as opposed to 3g?

Just flash a Froyo ROM like the "Resurrected Bumblebee" or the "Harmonia" long enough to activate your account or fix it. All Froyo ROMs have the activate app preinstalled.

Sorry for delay. The activate app can only be found in Froyo ROMs, stock and custom. That is why I kept a backup of a Froyo ROM at all times.
Just download and install one. Then back it up in the recovery.
