Activating notifications in Android Wear

I'm an Android Wear newbie, so please be patient with me. I'm a recent convert from my prematurely dead Samsung Gear Fit. These watches are very different beasts.

I'm trying to figure out how to get all of the notifications on my Asus Zenwatch that I had on my Gear Fit. When I first set up my Zenwatch, I was asked which apps I wanted to include in my notifications. My choices were very broad. I think the list included Android Wear, Yahoo Aviate, and Zenwatch Manager. There were no detailed app options like Facebook Messenger, Twitter, etc. (As an added bonus, I have no idea how to get back into that original notification menu. I didn't check all of those boxes. Maybe that was my mistake?)

I'm getting text messages and my Google Now cards to my watch right now. I'm not getting Facebook Messenger notifications. I don't think I'm getting Twitter notifications either. Those came directly to my old watch, but that was completely different software. Are there some settings that I can adjust either on my phone or on my watch that will allow me to get those same notifications on the Zenwatch?

I don't know if this matters, but my phone in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

In case anyone is interested, I figured this problem out. I just needed to go into my phone settings, find my application list, and activate notifications for the specific apps.

As a side note, I also had to go into the specific apps to specify which notifications I wanted to receive. For a while there, I was getting a billion notifications per day from Facebook. I really only wanted to get my direct messages.

with stuff like FB and twitter you have to make sure the settings within that app is switchedon. ie are you getting them on your phone? if pop up on your phone they will on your watch. i had an issue with whatsapp it was down to a setting within whats app about popups
