Active display brightness ??

I don't know if there was a recent update, but the past few days, I've noticed my active display has been very dim, much lower in brightness then from what it was previous. Is there a way to adjust this ?? I checked in display and could not see anything there. I even maid the display brighter, but the active display is still very dim.

Looks like a reboot solved the issue

Still would like to know if there is a way to adjust it though for next time.
