I just rooted my galaxy tab now how do I enable ad hoc for wireless tether off of my photon?

Motorola photon, I use the wireless tethering app to get my laptop on the internet, but the galaxy tab won't recognize it.

If its not working with the phones app you need to download PDA from the market I think. I've got an HTC Desire Z that works just fine on wifi tethering mode so cannot be more specific.
