Folks, I can't recall what I've done with my phone but all of a sudden I have adware each time on my lockscreen. What's the best way to check for malware on my lovely v30 and get it off? Thanks.
If it's on the lockscreen there's usually a menu button somewhere that can tell you which app is pushing the ads. Usual culprits are file managers, battery savers, or 3rd party launchers that have a 'battery saving' option.
When you see the ad, can you pull down on the notification bar? Is there an app showing there? If possible, can you screenshot the ad screen and post it here? In the meantime you can try Lookout's Ad Network Detector (or another 3rd party one, just make sure it's from a trusted brand).
You can't if you use the 'Quick Reply' field at the very bottom. You can tap any of the comments and you should see a REPLY option. Tap that and now you can type text AND add attachments.
Yeah, that's definitely from an app. Do you have E/S File Explorer installed? Also, see those three dots on the left corner? Tap that, it should show some settings or more info on the culprit app.
Yeah, it is. Can you confirm which app caused it? You should either uninstall or write a nastygram to the devs for enforcing it. Most of these app re-enable the intrusive setting if the app is updated, so if you must keep said app, make sure you check it if it's ever updated.
Thanks for that! The three dots were next to invisible on mine; didn't see until I looked, and didn't specifically look until you suggested! Couldn't figure out which app did it though.
