Adaptive brightness?

Just taking a poll here who uses adaptive brightness and who keeps their brightness up a little but? Which one offers more battery savings? I tried turning adaptive brightness off and the screen was bright at nighttime, but barely visible in the sun.

I use the adaptive brightness since I don't like having to fiddle with my phone every time I go outside. Other than being a bit slow to respond (but not terrible - usually just need to count to 3 when I take it out of my pocket into full sun), it seems to work fine for me.

I will say that it doesn't seem to get dim enough at night, but I use my phone so infrequently in the dark, that it doesn't matter to me.

I've been married to manual brightness for my last two phones, and have used it on the 6P up until a few days ago. I just got tired of fiddling with it every time I transition from indoors to out. And here in AZ, if you don't have the brightness waaaaaay up outdoors you're not gonna see squat. Battery seems to be holding up just fine as far as my casual observations go anyway.

Adaptive here. I have no worries about battery life. Enjoy the full potential of your phone and don't worry about things like that.

Adaptive off here...I like my brightness staying where I put it lol

I'm still playing around with the settings but I'm trying to to be as paranoid anymore regarding it.

I have turned my adaptive brightness back on, but what do you have you're brightness usually set at I meant I. The brightness slider in the notification pulldown bar?

Mine is always set around 80% all the way up. At night though, I need to move it way down as even with adaptive, my phone still pretty bright in a dark room

I'm now starting to play with it a little bit more so than I've done before, that's why I'm asking.

I don't use adaptive brightness because it always seems to fail me.

I do use an awesome little app called "Display Brightness" that places a little slider along the edge of the screen. I can slide my thumb over it to adjust the brightness easily. I have it set to only appear when my thumb touches the magic spot.

I think a thousand apps will come up when you search. Its icon is a light bulb.

Gotcha yeah I meant I have increased the regular brightness a bit and my battery is still pretty awesome! Adaptive brightness has been turned back on.

I used to use adaptive but it just doesn't work 100% stable enough for my liking so I switched to manual and just adjust when needed

I tired manual brightness but I also don't want to have to be bothered with it all of the time though. Again, j just increased the regular brightness, slightly, then went from there.

I just change the brightness manually before I go out :)

I see I see. So far this brightness settings is working out for me pretty well.
