Anyone know if it is possible to add Nexus Protect in after the order has been placed? I have ordered a 6P but at the time didn't add on Nexus Protect.
Is it possible to add Nexus Protect either upon delivery or to add it on before it ships?
Don't see a clear cut way to do it without cancelling my order and reordering (and hence receiving a further out shipping date estimate).
Thanks

I would suggest giving Google Support a call and see if they can assist with adding it since you have not received the device. I'm pretty sure you an still add it.

I think you'll have to call Google Support, there doesn't seem to be an option to add it after the fact or purchase it separately on Google's site.

The website says specifically that orders cannot be modified, and to cancel and re-order if you want to change them. But there's no harm in trying I suppose.

Hi, how is your day going so far? To assist you properly can I get your name?

Thank you. I understand you just bought a Nexus 6P and have questions about ordering the Nexus protect, is this correct?

With the Nexus Protect program, you actually have to purchase the device and the Nexus Protect all together.
If you want the Nexus Protect, you will need to cancel the order and re-order with the Nexus protect.

From the horses mouth. Contacted google chat.

I learned first hand you can't change your order but I did have my fingers crossed that I could add nexus protect as a separate purchase after the fact if I decided to go that route.

Thanks to Brad we now know that's not possible. I blame Brad

Yeah, that's what I figured. No big deal I suppose, though it could be disappointing if you got in line for the first batch and had to wait an extra couple weeks now.

I had wondered this also. This is Google's first time offering any kind of extra warranty so I figured it would be like Apple's , where you can add it later.

Glad I bought with Nexus protect, even if don't need can cancel it within 30 days or after that as well for which they refund the prorated amount. I buy new Nexus every year so was worried if I needed the protect, but with them refunding prorated amount when you cancel is great. This way I can cancel the insurance before I sell my phone but have the protection for the time I own.

Just cancel and re-order. Nexus Protect is cheap. Orders will ship quicker than expected. That's my prediction.

Nexus protect isn't an option in Canada. It wasn't there when I pre ordered. I've even done a couple mock orders to see if I missed something. I'm going to call that assurante company and see if they offer it maybe

It's worth noting that there are companies which will sell you device insurance independent of the carrier/manufacturer. If insurance is important to you and you can't get Nexus Protect, there are alternatives.
